My family’s organization, Flying for Hope (FFH), has greatly shaped the person I am today. This organization pays for transportation and/or hotel stay for individuals and families in a crisis that are not financially stable. FFH is much more than a plane ticket; it is an opportunity for individuals to reunite with their loved ones in a time of need. Through my volunteer work with FFH, I’ve been able to see how one charitable action can make a big difference in someone’s life. FFH has been a large dedication of my family and I’s over the years, and is one of the reasons I grew a passion for giving back and helping others. Below is a picture of my father and I at FFH’s Annual Spring Fever Gala.

This fall semester I had the opportunity to go to a concert with one of my good friends, Liya. We went to a Young The Giant concert here in Columbus and had such a blast. Music is a large part of my life. I cannot go a day without listening to music. I have been involved with music ever since I was a child and love finding new music to listen to. I have not been to many concerts of artists I like, so when I found out that Liya was going to a Young The Giant concert I had to tag along. This experience is something I will never forget.

About Me

I am Ashley: a student here at OSU studying Industrial and Systems Engineering. I am originally from Ohio, however, I moved to Illinois when I was 11 years old. I was born in Toledo and lived my childhood in Hilliard, OH. Since 2009 I have lived in Geneva, IL and have proudly called Chicago my home. I am the oldest of three siblings. I have a sister named Sidney (12) and a brother named Kyle (7). My siblings and my family mean the world to me.

As a new student at OSU, I am excited to meet people with my same interests, goals, and passions. Music has been one of my passions since I was a child. I am an animal lover and I enjoy experiencing new endeavors. I love to volunteer and help make the world a better place one action at a time. At home, I was greatly involved in my family’s NFP, Flying For Hope (FFH). Flying For Hope is an organization created to help families or individuals who aren’t financially stable in any crisis. Flying For Hope has affected me greatly and is one of the many reasons I am the person I’ve grown to be. I am thrilled to be a part of HES so I can grow as an engineer and continue my passion for helping others.
