The Conference “Worlds in Contention” co-organized by Political Science professors Ben McKean and Inés Valdez and sponsored by Ohio State’s Area Studies Centers was held virtually on May 7 and 8 of 2021. The Conference featured an inter-disciplinary set of guests speaking to the question of racial and economic injustice in the time of neoliberalism. 11 graduate students were selected to participate as “fellows,” committing them to contribute a post-conference account reflecting on their their impressions and the connections between their research interests and the topics discussed during the conference.
