Position Description


Here at Classroom Services and the Digital Union we support approximately 400 classrooms and 4 Digital Union spaces across the Columbus campus. We help faculty, staff, and students with classroom technology, audio/video issues, classroom maintenance and upkeep. In our Digital Unions we also assist in creating digital content, graphics, video, and 3-D printing.


Compensation starts at $10/hour. A list of basic requirements are listed below. Learn about Classroom services and the Digital Union by exploring our websites, visiting our locations, and using our resources. Training and peer mentoring will be provided . There are also self-study using resources available such as LinkedIn Learning and our internal website.


  • Position open to current OSU students only

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides customer service and incident support in classrooms and Digital Union computer labs
  • Assisting faculty, staff and students with instructional technology, software use, and classroom AV systems. This includes, but is not limited to LCD projectors, computing devices, annotation devices, document cameras, video playback devices, integrated A/V systems, video conferencing, media support, lecture capture tools, digital content creation, and video and audio editing software.
  • Troubleshoot problems within desktop, laptop and mobile computing environments, including Windows, OSX, iOS, and Android.
  • Provide assistance with basic network troubleshooting, such as wireless setup. Performs daily maintenance of classrooms and labs, tracking classroom maintenance using LE provided tools.
  • Assist guests with usage of computers and peripheral equipment including printers, scanners, projectors, audio video equipment.
  • Assist guests with usage of multimedia software generally related to web design, image editing, graphic design, video editing, audio editing, and document processing.
  • Assist with general lab and equipment maintenance, including setup, cleaning, and organizing.
  • Staff who demonstrate advanced skills and sense of responsibility will have the opportunity to be involved in training, and special projects..
  • Position may include occasional heavy lifting.
