G.O.A.L.S.

  • Global Awareness: Students cultivate and develop their appreciation for diversity and each individual’s unique differences. For example, consider course work, study abroad, involvement in cultural organizations or activities, etc.
  • Original Inquiry: Honors & Scholars students understand the research process by engaging in experiences ranging from in-class scholarly endeavors to creative inquiry projects to independent experiences with top researchers across campus and in the global community. For example, consider research, creative productions or performances, advanced course work, etc.
  • Academic Enrichment: Honors & Scholars students pursue academic excellence through rigorous curricular experiences beyond the university norm both in and out of the classroom.
  • Leadership Development: Honors & Scholars students develop leadership skills that can be demonstrated in the classroom, in the community, in their co-curricular activities, and in their future roles in society.
  • Service Engagement: Honors & Scholars students commit to service to the community.

Service engagement- I plan to volunteer a lot of my time to Matthew 25: ministries, a humanitarian aid and disaster relief center in my hometown that helps reach 20 million people worldwide by supplying goods and services they need.

Original Inquiry- I have been taking an Intro to Micro Research class my first semester where we read papers of many faculty at OSU and the course is also instructed by researchers here. At the end, I plan on reaching out to a few of these faculty members to see if I can work in their lab next year.

About Me

Hello, I’m Nick Wolf. I’m a second year student from Cincinnati, Ohio and am majoring in Microbiology. I’m in the Biological Sciences Scholars Program at Ohio State. I have always had an interest in biology and disease since I was in sixth grade and have always wanted to study that in college and make a career out of my interest. Currently, I am on the pre-med track and plan on applying to medical school in the future. In high school, I played soccer and ran cross country. I’m a pretty active person and love to go out with my friends and exercise whether it be basketball, frisbee, or just going to the gym. I am really looking forward to my time at Ohio State making new connections and great experiences to prepare for my future.
