About Me

Hello, my name is Kelsey Wolf. I grew up in Dayton, Ohio and I am currently a first year at Ohio State University Columbus campus. My intended major is astrophysics, however I also have a strong interest in biological topics and sustainability. As a child, my parents exposed me to outdoor recreation and helped me to understand the importance of nature which has rooted in me my passion for preservation. I also found myself gravitating toward astronomy and theoretical ideas involving the mysteries of the universe. I attended a high school where I was blessed to meet several wonderful teachers and friends that supported my interest in the sciences. Because of that, I have participated in numerous research/service projects and have completed many hours of volunteer work that benefited my hometown. In the future, I hope to become a research scientist and continue to enrich my community and the world around me. I am not sure what field of science this may be in, but I wish to be a life long learner. I am very excited to be at a place like OSU that offers me endless opportunities to pursue all of my interests. For example, the Environmental and Natural Resources program is a program that I know I will thrive in. I do not like playing sports but I absolutely love outdoor activities such as kayaking, hiking, and rock climbing. I love to mushroom hunt and identify plants as well as learn more about the problems our ecosystems are facing. Being more aware of the huge world of nature around us is extremely humbling and important. Ultimately, I am very excited for how I will grow as a person the next four years and for all of the wonderful things that I will experience.
