What I Learned From Sarah

  • Everyone feels suffocated with schoolwork sometimes, but it does get better.
  • The ideal time to start college is right out of high school, but that does not mean it is impossible to get it done later in life. There will be more challenges as responsibilities pile on (jobs, spouses, children, etc.), and online classes are available to make that process easier for some.
  • There can be difficulties with online classes (lack of communication with fellow classmates and professor, time management, digital copies of all documents, etc.), but the key is to use resources for aid and figure out what works for you.

Favorite Digital Tools

  • Notability (used for taking notes)
  • Trello (organizer for schedule)
  • Google Docs/Slides/Sheets… (makes creating challenging documents easy)
  • Reminders (sets reminders for when certain assignments are due)
  • Carmen App (to-do section keeps me updates on changes to due-dates)

Tips Learned From ESLTECH

  • Communication is key — always talk to the professor/peers when confused!
  • Take notes while completing readings (I like using an outline model).
  • Do not procrastinate! Getting a little done every few days works the best.
  • Having a good work environment can be vital to progress.
