Honors Contract G.O.A.L.S.

Global Awareness: I traveled to London on a study abroad my freshman year. That was my first time leaving the country, and was a very profound experience. Since then I have also traveled to Canada on a personal trip. My major in history has allowed me to take classes that look at all areas of the globe. I intend to study abroad at least one more time before graduation.

Original Inquiry: Although I have not worked on any specific research project, I have had to find historical documents and analyze them as part of my major coursework. I have also had to write research papers. I like to have a job involving research at some point in my undergraduate career.

Academic Enrichment: I selected General Education courses based on what subjects I found to be the most interesting in the required areas. I have selected history and economics because I have an interest in both topics, they provide a wide set of skills, and they are recommended areas of study for students interested in law school. I have tried to select honors or upper level courses whenever possible.

Leadership Development: This is an area I know I need to do better with in the future. I have not been as involved with activities and organizations as I should have been. There are a few organizations I know I might be interested in joining as an upperclassmen, and hopefully I could find an opportunity to develop some leadership skills there.

Service Engagement: I have found great fulfillment in volunteering for political organizations and candidates. It has been a positive outlet for the emotional investment I have in politics. With the midterm elections coming up, I plan on continuing to contribute in this area. I have also attended charitable events and helped out at some.
