HARRY C. HERSHEY (graduate of the University of Missouri’s Rolla campus)
Career:
- Emeritus Professor (buyout 1995, last quarter teaching: Spring 1997
Family:
- I have three children: two have Master’s degrees and the third a PhD. Only the youngest has an OSU degree: Master in Education.
Favorite Memories:
- Favorite memories are all the wonderful students I taught over the years, and the hours teaching and advising outside of class as well as attending student functions (parties, tailgates, sports, etc).
Activities:
- Since retiring from OSU, I have been mostly involved in a farming and ranching business: buying (and occasionally selling land), selling commodities, planning drainage systems, financial planning, managing capital projects, doing accounting, preparing tax returns, and taking care of my Mother.
- I travel frequently, usually overseas once a year on vacation, and still vacation regularly in Colorado.
- I own or used to own land in Colorado, North Dakota, Illinois, and Missouri, so management duties require lots of travel to those locations.
- I still work out and play sports (tennis more than golf).
- I have a big garden every year.
- I still live in Worthington, Ohio.
