2024 Gardening Roundtables
Join us for a monthly informal discussion series focused on gardening. This series will be a place for gardeners to network, share ideas, and problem-solve with one another about the benefits and issues of growing a garden. The goal of the series is to allow peer learning through networking, problem-solving, and idea-sharing regarding the benefits and challenges of gardening.
Roundtables will be geared toward growers with gardening experience but are open to anyone from novice to master. Each date will be a standalone topic, so attendance of all dates is not required. Topics will be determined prior to each month’s roundtable to allow for the selection of timely issues. It is hosted on a Monday of each month from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. No cost to register. Open to gardeners in Williams County and beyond.

Coffee and Grain Marketing with Dr. Seungki Lee
OSU Extension invites Ohio grain producers to grab a cup of coffee and join a quarterly grain market conversation with Dr. Seungki Lee, Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics (AEDE) from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. on April 14, September 15, and November 17, 2023.
During these webinars held via Zoom, Dr. Lee will provide his insights on the World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) crop report. “These early morning webinars will be a great way for Ohio farmers to learn more about the factors impacting the corn, soybean, and wheat market,” remarked David Marrison, Interim Director for OSU Extension’s Farm Financial Management and Policy Institute.

Learn composting from the experts! Researchers, Facility operators, and other compost professionals share what they know and why it’s important. In this education course, you can learn the whys of composting, observe mini case studies, compost science, and testing. The registration fee includes all materials, a continental breakfast, and lunch. The fee is $250 for members of the Ohio Organics Council (OHOC) chapter of the USCC and $300 for non-members. The registration deadline is March 24, 2023. Seating is limited, and no walk-ins will be admitted.

Conservation Tillage and Technology Conference (CTTC)

Come and participate in the 2023 Conservation Tillage and Technology Conference (CTTC)! This year the CTTC offers 50+ presentations with exclusive video access following the conference featuring speakers from

Hardin County Spring Garden Seminar “Something Old, New, Tried & True in the Garden”
2023 Ohio Woodland, Water, and Wildlife Conference
For those interested in managing the woodlands, water, and wildlife, here is an opportunity to learn just that! On Wednesday, March 1st in Mansfield, Ohio, professionals from OSU, ODNR, and EPA will discuss a variety of topics on the management of woodlands, water, and wildlife.
Early registration is $65 before February 10th and $85 after February 10. The last date to register is February 17th. Purdue Extension Steuben County Offering Beekeeping for Beginners Series
Whether you appreciate the health benefits or are just curious about these little pollinators, Purdue Extension Steuben County invites you to register for the Beekeeping for Beginners course that is open to both youth and adults.
