Computer

I do not have any flashy pictures taken from this semester, however, this is an example of something that has truly aided me through my start to college, and it still represents me as a person. This is my computer that I built, which I have used as my primary workstation for my classes and projects, but also as an entertainment device. It allows me to complete my difficult CSE projects, but also to have fun when I am done with work by playing games with my friends. This device has brought me so much joy since I built it, and has continued to function great for educational purposes. Symbolically, it will always remind me of how much of a hybrid device it was during the age of COVID-19, serving me well for school and for my own pleasure.

Artifact #1

Artifact #1

This is a picture of me with a group of my friends last year after our regional competition for Business Professionals of America (BPA). This moment was an important reflection of me academically and socially because I was able to share the feeling of earning an award with so many of my close friends. Each of us managed to place in the top 3 of our events and qualify for the state competition (which was later canceled). Looking back on this moment causes me to reflect on the motivation from all of my peers that allowed me to garner academic success alongside them.

About Me

Hey everyone! My name is Andrew Wilkes, a first year engineering student intending to major in Computer Science. I am very passionate about programming ever since I dabbled in JavaScript in my Sophomore year of high school. Also, on the side I am a huge sports fan and love to look at the analytics of them. Ultimately, I would like to secure a job out of college that would allow me to use my knowledge to facilitate the lives of people across the globe. I am looking forward to a great 4 years until then of doing what I can to improve the lives of others while simultaneously working towards my goals.
