(March 2017) Between 2015-2016, Project Wild Coshocton conducted preliminary camera trapping surveys of 49 potential field sites across Coshocton and southern Holmes Counties. We documented the presence of bobcats at 7 of those sites (see map of confirmed sites). We have used the data we collected on the distribution of bobcats, coyotes, and common prey species to select 27 permanent field sites, which we plan to survey annually for four week periods in this long-term camera-trapping study. 2017 marks the first year of this more formal phase of our project. We began setting our cameras in mid-February and have now collected our first set of photos, which are providing an exciting glimpse into the wildlife of east-central Ohio! Here is a sample of photos collected so far.
