First, the display screen shows the distance measured by the laser tape measure. Second, the change settings button allows for the user to change the units the tape measure measures in. It can change from inches to feet or from centimeters to meters. Third, the On/Off button simply turns the device on or off.

This device is detachable from the tape measure and the allows the user to measure areas without a sold surface behind it.
