My paper focused on the problem of international students faced during their daily and academic life here. There are three most important factors that make me have this thought, the unfamiliarity with the new environment, the potential discrimination and they are not confident enough of their language abilities. Most of the international students around us are Asian and compare the culture of Asian with the culture of America, there are some obvious differences reflected on the dietary habit, the language and the academic part. All of these things might cost the international students a long time to adapt. About the discrimination part, I personally think that the existence of White privilege, the race discrimination and the gender discrimination effect our life a lot. The discrimination might cause the students have inappropriate resistance strategies. The discrimination make people feel uncomfortable, cause depression and let people have a fear of communicating with others. The last and also the most important one is the language problem. At first most of the international students do not have enough confidence with their language abilities, the rarely tried to talk to their local students classmate and they just gather in a small circle with people come from the same country. The classroom culture is also different here, some of the international students might also feel they cannot get used to the different culture here quickly.
I am sure that international students will get used to the life here, but I personally think that international students have more difficulties on the process of this because there are a lot of difference in different parts that they are totally unfamiliar with.
