About Me

My name is Madelyn Wendt, and I am currently a first-year student studying Visual Communication Design at The Ohio State University. I am a member of the Media, Marketing and Communication Scholars program. Thus far, MMC has provided an extra branch of knowledge for educating me about possible interests for the future. Through MMC, I am beginning to develop a clearer picture of the goals I want to set for myself after graduation.

Regarding other campus involvement, I am currently a member of The Happiest Club on Campus: A Disney Themed Club and Camp Kesem, a nationwide organization which holds an expense-free camp for children whose parents have been diagnosed with cancer. Over the summer, I hope to serve as a camp counselor at Camp Kesem. Overall, I enjoy exploring campus and discovering the countless opportunities Columbus has to offer. Outside of class, I enjoy reading novels and cross-stitching.

Artifacts

During my senior Speech and Debate season, I chose to write a speech advocating for equal treatment of the LGBTQ community. In my speech, I urged for people to embrace discussing controversial topics, specifically the LGBTQ community.  I have written several papers that I take pride in the quality of but having the chance to publicly express my thoughts on such a meaningful topic meant a great deal to me.
