Julien Irizarry
Biographical Sketch
Julien is a 4th-year non-traditional student studying Electrical and Computer Engineering with a focus on embedded systems and machine learning. He left school his freshman year to join the military, and after gaining valuable experience, he decided to finish my degree. As part of his research experience in Welding Engineering, he is currently working on utilizing neural network to predict weld geometry in laser and electron beam welding. Funding for his position comes from a Research Experience for Veterans (REV) supplement within the NSF IUCRC Manufacturing and Materials Joining Innovation Center (Ma2JIC), award#1822144.
Luke Malonis
Biographical Sketch
Luke is currently enrolled in OSU’s Chemical Engineering Program. As part of his research experience in Welding Engineering, he is currently performing weldability testing to determine solidification cracking resistance of several nickel base alloys and high entropy alloys. Funding for his position comes from a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) supplement within the NSF IUCRC Manufacturing and Materials Joining Innovation Center (Ma2JIC), award#1822144.
