Career and Educational “R&D”

I’ve had many opportunities to grow and develop both as an engineer and as a person, especially during my time at OSU.

My first two semesters of OSU consisted of rapidly adapting to the fast paced tempo of classes, running to and from engineering career fairs, getting job shadowing opportunities, and applying to internships that sparked my interest. The change to a collegiate atmosphere was both a shock and relief – to me it was an inspiring and a motivational deviation from the “normal” that I had beforehand. The challenges were greater and numerous, and every single one of them was going to be a learning experience for me, not because they forced me to learn, but because I devoted myself to building character and skillsĀ from each and every experience that was meaningful.

Before OSU, I attended engineering camps: Dayton’s STEM program as well as Purdue’s STEP program. I did a College of Engineering tour at OSU, exploring the buildings and learned further which disciplines interested me. Although my high school did not offer engineering classes like most others, the strong math and science departments assisted me by starting me off with a solid foundation for my future education. All of these items just further peaked my interest in engineering, in solving problems, in facing challenges and finding new ways around them.
