My name is Elizabeth Weger and I am from a small suburb just outside of Cleveland called Rocky River. My whole life I’ve wanted to help people as well as broaden my horizons. Both of these goals I believe I can achieve while attending The Ohio State University as well as being a part of the competitive Health Sciences Scholars program.

As a student, I have always been on top of my studies and taken higher level courses. I am a person that loves to be busy so I was always one to load up my schedule with tough academics, extracurriculars, as well as service projects. I loved the four years I was able to swim as well as run. I helped take on the leadership position in both sports my senior year, which was definitely a highlight for me. Leadership skills are important to me and Student Council served as a great outlet for my organization and communication skills. Getting to represent my class for all four years as Treasurer was such an amazing experience and I hope to use these skills later in my life. In high school I was very much involved in my youth group. I was an officer my senior year and helped to coordinate our annual summer mission trip. Mission trips are what originally got me started on wanting to extend myself to others outside of my community. I have been on three mission trips; New Orleans, Louisiana in 2013, Cumberland Mountains, Tennessee in 2014, as well as Memphis Tennessee this past summer.

In the Health Science program, I hope to meet people with likeminded ideals that will help me better myself as an individual as well as to step outside my comfort zone. I hope to one day become an Occupational Therapist after grad school. I love helping others and I also was given the opportunity to shadow somebody in the profession this past spring in the pediatrics department.
