Green Engineernig Scholars Presentation

In green engineering scholars seminar thi past fall semester, I worked on a project that presented the idea of LED light bulbs. We looked at research that had been done over how safe and effective this light technology- that is currently considered a more efficient way of lighting- actually is. I found a lot of insight through this project regarding how concerns with new technology are addressed. Reading through many academic articles which depicted the experiments and results were and interesting way of learning about how research tends to be published and how to use the publications to my advantage. This project also was also a great way to look at the importance as an engineer of looking at the risks of the products that are introduced as well as the benefits. Overall this project was a really exciting learning tool and I enjoyed working on it.

About Me

Hi, my name is Anna Weber and I am so excited to be a Buckeye! I am from Dublin, Ohio which is about 20 minutes away from campus. I LOVE studying math and science and have since I was a little kid. I was involved in a number of STEM related programs throughout grade school including FIRST robotics. My experiance with my highschool FRC team allowed my interest in STEM to blossom into a passion. I plan to continue pursuing this passion at Ohio State through my major of Computer Science and Engineering. I have always found computer technology to be fascinating and look forward to building upon the knowledge I currently have. I am an avid learner and have many interests that reach beyond the confines of my major as well. I am really interested in visual arts and spend a good chunk of my free time working on various paintings, drawings, etc that I am inspired to make. I also am very active.  I love to run and recently I got involved in the sport of triathalon. I competed this past summer in the OSU Ross tri fit Challenge and I had an amazing time. It was one of my favorite things I did the entire summer. I definitely planning to come back and race it again  next year. For now however I am looking forward for my First semester at Ohio State. I can’t wait to start! Go Bucks!
