Calling all stay-at-home campers! Ohio 4-H staff miss summer camp as much as you do, and we want to do what we can to bring elements of camp to your home! On June 9-11, you are invited to join us for Ohio 4-H Camp…ish! It is open to any youth ages 8-18 across the state of Ohio. Friends who are not in 4-H are welcome to register, too! There is no cost for attending, although some activities will require the use of basic art supplies, household items, or things found outdoors. Please visit go.osu.edu/campish to register by June 7! Activities will be hosted at the following times each day: 9-11 AM, 1-3 PM, 4-5 PM. Campers are not required to attend all sessions, so sign up and come for the times you can enjoy Camp…ish activities brought to you by Ohio 4-H Camp…ish Directors!

2020 News for 4-H and Ohio Military Kids

Here’s to the start of new decade for Ohio Military Kids! This will be a year of appreciation as we embrace 2020 with open minds and big hearts. We extend our appreciation to those past, present, and future who contribute time and efforts to support the increasing number of military-affiliated youth served by OMK.

Ohio Military Kids is a partnership with Ohio State University Extension 4-H Youth Development and Ohio National Guard Family Readiness. This partnership allows us to put on numerous events around the state of Ohio. From overnights, daylong programs, weekend camps, and even a weeklong camp, these events are open to youth of military families. 4-H older youth and adults can volunteer for OMK events, including as camp counselors in the summer! 

With our event season approaching, we are all excited to embrace the new year of 2020! Ohio Military Kids just launched their first wave of events for March and April. These events include two daylong horse camps, a zoo overnight, and a weekend farm visit. Visit our website at go.osu.edu/OMKevents to learn more about the 2020 adventures of Ohio Military Kids!

Applications are now available for 2020 Ohio 4-H Shooting Sports Camp Counselors! Potential counselors must be 14 years old as of January 1st. No shooting sports experience required! Shooting Sports Camp will be held from June 25th – 28th at Canters Cave
4-H camp located in Jackson, Ohio.  Applications and additional information can be found at https://go.osu.edu/shootingsportscounselor. Applications are due by
March 14, 2020.

Dear 4-H members and parents,

We hope you’re excited about 4-H Camp this week and we look forward to seeing you at camp tomorrow Wednesday June 29th.  We recently became aware of a major road closure on State Route 514 south of Nashville, which is on the way to camp.  So listed below is important detour information that we hope makes your trip to and from Camp easier.

The 4-H Camp Ohio address is: 11461 Camp Ohio Rd, St Louisville, OH 43071

To avoid the SR 514 closure just south of Nashville, Ohio….

•  Head West on SR 39 out of Nashville for 3 miles. 
•  Turn left on County Rd 22, (just before Haudenschild Insurance)
• Travel on County Rd 22 3.6 miles
•  Turn right on SR 514 and proceed toward Danville. 

As a reminder registration at camp is from 3-3:30 pm.  Pick up from Camp is on Sunday July 3rd at 10 am.  Parents are also welcome to attend the closing ceremonies on Sunday at 9:30 am.

The 2015 Wayne County 4-H Junior Camp will be held from Monday June 29th through Friday July 3rd at 4-H Camp Ohio near Utica.  More details about camp and registration information will be available in the spring of 2015.

If you have seen a possible camper please approach them with caution!  They may be armed with excitement and joy when you tell them about 4-H camp!

Camp is open to all 4-H members and friends 8 years old and in 3rd grade through age 13 as of Jan. 1, 2014!

The cost for those darn whipper snappers is

$175.00 per 4-H member and $190.00 for a non 4-H member.

 Camp Registration Deadline has been extended to Friday June 20th.
