Sophomore Year- Challenges and Triumps

Sophomore year was filled with challenges and triumphs. I immersed my self in the Fisher College of Business Experience. I completed nearly all of my business core classes (only have to take finance) and loved every second of it. Though these classes were quite rigorous, I loved learning something valuable to my future career. I got involved with the Ohio Union Activities Board and was on the Comedy Committee. I got to meet Colin Jost and Michael Che from the Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live. Along with these highlights, came some difficult times. Missing home and struggling with mental health were the lows of sophomore year, but I have become stronger and have matured greatly.

So many of my peers told me that sophomore year was their favorite year of college and the past year was nothing short of that. I moved into my sorority house second semester and got to live with my best friend. Immersing myself in the Greek Life culture was a wonderful experience. I gotten to know so many people this year as well as network professionally. I stayed close with a few business scholar friends and even went to a fraternity formal with one of them!!

I interviewed with a few companies this year knowing that it was crucial to get an internship this summer to set me up for the years to come. I was able to brush up on my interviewing skills and perfected my pitch about why I was the best fit for the job. I landed a risk analyst job with Discover Financial Services, LLC in New Albany, OH. I look forward to discovering a new side of business. I changed my major this year to Operations after absolutely loving my Intro to Operations course.

I loved getting to go to football games and meeting new friends through social events. Sophomore year was a great year, but I am looking forward to being an upperclassmen and having a car on campus. Next year, I will be taking my first Operations specialization class. I am excited to see what my second half of college has in store for me because the first half flew by!
