Over your college career, you will most likely take hybrid classes which are a mix of in class learning and online learning. Part of the online learning will be composed of discussion boards where your professor will post a question and you will respond as well as comment on your peers posts’. It is so important to be concise with your answer and give constructive criticism when responding to your classmates. Some good pointers from the reading include : reviewing earlier postings, review ant rules and etiquette guide, take your time, and write postings in a clear and expressive manner (Watkins and Corry). As a current student at OSU, I can’t stress enough how important it is to develop good habits for online discussions. One last piece of advice I have for you is to be organized! “Creating a folder for each of your courses” will help you keep track of past assignments and future assignments (Watkins and Corry). If you plan on being a full time student, you can expect to take 4 classes per semester. It can be hard to keep track of your classes if you don’t have some type of organization and don’t write due dates in a calendar. In most cases, professors will not expect late work, so missing an assignment can drastically lower your grade.
