Ohio State Fair 4-H Food Drive

The Ohio 4-H Teen Leadership Council’s Community Service Committee (chaired by Melina Matics) has developed a plan for a non-perishable food drive that will support multiple counties in Ohio! Please help the Ohio 4-H Teen Leadership Council reach their community service goals by contributing to the canned food drive at Ohio State Fair! All 4-H families are welcome to contribute by bringing in non-perishable foods to the Lausche Building (where 4-H projects are judged) each day of the State Fair. Ongoing counts of the top-contributing counties will be tallied throughout the Ohio State Fair from July 27-August 7! Thank you for supporting our communities!

Food items collected will be donated to the Mid-Ohio Food Collective. The Mid-Ohio Food Collective is Ohio’s largest food bank and it serves 20 counties covering nearly 10,000 square miles! Will your 4-H families help us contribute to the 170,000 meals provided each day in central and eastern Ohio?  – Kayla Oberstadt, 4-H Program Specialist

Update on Kentucky Service Project

I wanted to share an update on my efforts thus far in my efforts to raise funds for Kentucky tornado survivors.  On Feb.26th, my 4-H club, Churchtown Busy Bunch, joined my cause and served desserts at the Beverly Legion steak fry netting $364.20.  During FFA week in Feb., the Fort Frye FFA Chapter held a kiss the calf competition netting over $500 to be sent to a FFA Chapter in Kentucky that had members affected by this tornado. I personally doing a quilt to raise funds. I have presented at a  Lion’s Club meeting and am scheduled to present at another, generating donations from donations as well.   I continue to be in contact with a 4-H Extension Agent  assessing needs of specific 4-H’ers affected.  As soon as I get exact details on how to get our money to the specific 4-H’ers affected, I will pass that information along.  So again, I am challenging each Washington County 4-H club to join my efforts.  Any effort, no matter the size, is genuinely appreciated.  Should you have questions feel free to contact myself @ 740-516-6263 or my mom Ellie @ 740-434-3064.

Sincerely, Isaiah Tullius
