Thank you to everyone that helped to work a lemon-shake shift or donate items for the Hervida Lemon-shake Stand at the recent Sternwheel Festival. The camp board has reported a profit of over $6000 to apply toward Hervida’s Camp operating budget.

Bean Ride/Camp Hervida Equine Trail Challenge
September 17th at noon
At the Bean Ride – 34546 Atherton Road, Mackburg
$10 entry per rider/equine
All money goes to Camp Hervida
3 judges
½ hour to complete course – If you choose to do 1 obstacle that is all you will be judged on and the rest marked zero
Each obstacle will have a 5 point scale and be judged by 3 judges
0 is no effort or complete refusal of the obstacle
5 is the obstacle completed with style
Adults are 18 and up
Youth 17 and under
Belt buckles for 1st place both divisions
Participation prize for youth
There will be tie breaker obstacles if needed
Belt buckles sponsored by McCoy Farms
No aggressive behavior towards your animal
Youth will not do the tie challenge in their first ride
It will be the tie breaker

Desserts are needed for a benefit being held Saturday, September 16 by Bean Ride Charities (Lowell area). Funds from this event will help build a new girls cabin at Hervida 4-H Camp. About 800 people are expected for their weekend event, so lots of desserts are needed!!

Our Washington County 4-H Camps have been awesome. Here is a picture from Junior Camp, Cloverbud Camp, and Beginner Camp. Senior Camp will be held July 17-21.
The Marietta Community Foundation provided a $25,000 grant to fund the majority of a chip and seal project at Hervida 4-H Camp. Other donors have come along side Hervida to fully complete the project so all of the Hervida roads will be resurfaced. This will make Hervida and the facilities more accessible for all campers!
Washington County 4-H is excited to announce the summer camp lineup and host camps for youth Kindergarten thru ninth grade. OSU Extension will be offering four camps this year, including a day camp, one overnight day camp, and two multi-day overnight camps. The camps will all be held at Camp Hervida near Waterford. Here is the summer lineup for the dates and camp specific information.
Registration costs will cover lodging, meals, daily canteen, evening snack, class and program supplies for the campers. The camp staff and camp counselors are looking forward to a fun and exciting 4-H camping season! Camp t-shirts will be available at additional cost.

Bean Ride Charities has selected Hervida 4-H Camp as the beneficiary of their 2023 fundraising efforts. The BIG event will be held September 15-17 and the proceeds will help build a new girls cabin to replace Cabin #8.
To get supplies and items for the September event, a Cornhole Tournament will be held on June 3. Registration begins at 2:30 and the cost is $15 per person. Youth in grades 5-7 are invited to join us at Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp June 19th-21st for STEM Camp 2023!
4-H STEM Camp is an overnight camping opportunity for youth interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. We are excited to be able to offer STEM Camp at a reduced rate thanks to a 4-H Foundation Grant, lowering the cost of camp for youth in Appalachian Ohio.
