Applications are now open for Ohio 4-H Delegates to the 2025 National 4-H Conference!

Any 4-H member in Ohio ages *14-18 is able to apply by completing the Qualtrics survey linked below

Sample Application: 2025 National 4-H Conference Delegate Application Questions

Basic Information:

  • National 4-H Conference is specifically focused on civic engagement, civic education, and personal development. Delegates arrive ready to connect, learn, engage, lead, and impact their communities, their nation, and their world. In 2024, National 4-H Conference returns for youth delegates to attend in-person in Washington, D.C., April 10-16, 2025 (Ohio delegates arrive a day early on April 10. Conference begins April 11).
  • Interested Ohio 4-H members must complete an application via Qualtrics (linked at bottom) by December 1 at 11:59 p.m. *Applicants must be 15-18 as of January 1, 2025, and currently enrolled as an Ohio 4-H member in 2025.
  • After an application is received, the State 4-H Office will request a referral from county 4-H professional for the respective candidate.
  • A selection board of advisors, 4-H educators, and past attendees will review applications and conduct interviews, as needed.
  • Those selected will be expected to fully engage in all pre-conference and conference activities and adhere to all National 4-H guidelines, complete all required work as a result of conference participation, and share knowledge gained with Ohio 4-H upon their return.

Wash Co Fair Livestock Sale Checks

COUNTY FAIR SALE CHECKS: Checks can be picked up October 12 & 13, 2024 between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm at the Senior Fair Board Office, 922 Front St, Marietta. A W-9 must be completed and on file at the Sr Fairboard Office when the sale check is picked up. Printed forms are available at the Sr Fairboard Office for new exhibitors. If exhibitors already completed a form in 2022 or 2023, then another form is not needed. New exhibitors can pick up, complete, and turn in a W-9 at the Sr Fairboard Office.

TCS – 4-H Themed Ornaments

TCS Paper Clover dates have changed this year, and the campaign will now start on Nov. 29 and end Dec. 15.

As a precursor to the Paper Clover fundraiser and in tandem with National 4-H Week, TSC will also have 4-H-themed ornaments available for purchase. Sales officially begin Oct. 7 but select stores may have them available this week.

2024 Barlow Independent Fair Market Livestock Auction Results

The Barlow Livestock Sale was held Saturday, September 29 at the Barlow Independent Fair. The sale totaled $296,800.

  •  26 market dairy goats averaged $453.
  •  Premier Exhibitor Market Dairy Goat shown by Levi Reynolds was purchased by Wetz Warehouse for $725.
  • Grand Champion Market Dairy Goat shown by Austin Seaman was purchased by Integrity Oil Field Services for $1,000.
  • Reserve Champion Market Dairy Goat shown by Chandler Shankland was purchased by Polymer Services of Ohio for $500.

 Feeder Calf Heifers

  • 49 feeder calf heifers averaged $2,395.
  • Premier Exhibitor Feeder Calf Heifer shown by Madison Hiener was purchased by Beverly Feed & Equipment for $1,900.
  • Grand Champion Feeder Calf Heifer shown by Syd Skinner was purchased by Wetz Transportation for $5,000.
  • Reserve Champion Feeder Calf Heifer shown by Jaslyn Casto was purchased by Becker Angus Farm for $4,500.

  • 42 feeder calf steers averaged $2,745.
  • Grand Champion Feeder Calf Steer shown by Madi Zimmer was purchased by Full Circle Oil Field Services for $5,200.
  • Reserve Champion Feeder Calf Steer shown by Kaitlynn Antill was purchased by TNT Cattle & G & C Real Properties for $6,000.

  • 80 pens of market ducks averaged $272.

If you have a passion for the great sport of bass fishing, but do not have a school or community sponsored team, the Ohio B.A.S.S. Nation now has a way for you to compete at the State Level, with the potential to earn scholarship funds, and a path to the National Stage!

Ohio B.A.S.S. has created a “Community Club” for all High School anglers who currently attend a High School in the State of Ohio!

  • Buckeye Leadership Workshop – Recreation Unlimited, Ashley, OH. March. Age 16 or high school sophomore.
  • State 4‐H Leadership Camp – 4‐H Camp Ohio, early Must be age 15 as of Jan 1st.
  • 4‐H Citizenship‐ Washington Focus – National 4‐H Center, Washington June/July. Must be age 14 as of Jan 1
  • 4‐H Forestry Wildlife Camp – Forestry & wildlife education, fishing, hiking, tree climbing. Canter’s Cave 4‐H Camp. Weekend in April. Ages 12‐18
  • 4‐H Sea Camp – Kelley’s Island, July, Must be ages 15‐17
  • Ohio 4‐H Sr. Shooting Education Camp – Canters Cave 4‐H Camp, Jackson, OH. July. Must be ages 12 – 18.
  • Ohio 4‐H Jr. Shooting Education Camp – Canters Cave 4‐H Camp, Jackson, OH. July. Must be age 9 – 12
  • Space Adventure Camp – Marietta College. June. Youth ages 11‐13 and/or grades 5 – 7.

  • October 10                   Member’s application due to Extension Office.  Extension Office removes names and adds numbers to applications to provide an anonymous packet for the Awards Selection Committee to review.
  • October 28                      Awards Selection Committee reviews applications and selects Project Pin and Special Pin Award Winners. Trip Committee interviews applicants and selects winners for 4-H Trips and Margaret Meredith award.
  • Early November          Award winners invited to attend the 4-H Year Celebration.
  • November 21                 4-H Year Celebration – Ice Cream Bar at 6:30 PM and program at 7:00 PM. at the Washington County Junior Fair Building. Award Applications are returned to applicants.
