Project Highlight of the Week – Rockets!

This week are exploring Rockets for our project of the week!

Rockets Away (2 liter Bottle Rockets) – Study the science of rocketry through a variety of hands-on experiments for all ages. Members conclude this project by building and launching 2-liter bottle water rockets. A bottle rocket launcher may be available from your county Extension office. Visit our website at www.ohio4h.org/rocketry. Members wishing to launch Solid-Fuel model rockets should take 503. OSU Extension has a launcher members can borrow for this project!

Science Fun with Flight – Experiment with the forces of flight by building and flying a model airplane or glider to soar above the earth. This project does not include radio-controlled airplanes or helicopters.

Rockets Away (Solid Fuel Model Rockets) – Study the science of rocketry through a variety of hands-on experiments for all ages. Members conclude this project by launching a solid-fuel model rocket built from a kit. Note: Members wishing to build and launch 2-liter bottle rockets should take 501.

Solid-Fuel Rocketry Mastery – This project is for members who have completed 503 Rockets Away!—Solid-Fuel Model Rockets and who want to continue to develop specialized skills. Members of any age may complete this project, but they should have significant experience in rocketry (comparable to what is required for other advanced-level 4-H projects) and be able to plan and complete the project on their own with minimal supervision or assistance.
