College & Personal Development Scholarship Applications Due – March 1

  • College Scholarship – up to three $500 college scholarships awarded
  • Personal Development Scholarship – up to four $250 personal scholarships awarded

College Scholarship Guidelines:
1. Applicants must have been enrolled and in good standing (completed projects) in Washington County 4-H Program at least three years.
2. Applicants must be a high school senior or college freshman at the time of application.
3. College scholarships are not renewable and will be a one-time recipient.
4. Awardees will be notified by April 1st and receive the scholarship payment at the conclusion of the first semester/quarter of college by submitting a copy of their grades to document the achievement of a minimum 2.0 grade average. Funds must be claimed by July 1, 2023.
5. Funding for scholarships is made possible by the Washington County 4-H Advisory Committee.
6. Applicants must attach a letter of acceptance (if available) from the college you are planning to attend Fall 2022. Can be any accredited associates or bachelors program.
7. Include a current photo with the application. (Senior picture preferred)
8. Attach a resume up to three pages highlighting: 4-H Project & Participation, 4-H Leadership (roles & activities), 4-H Awards, All Community Service, and Other Non-4-H Experiences.
9. Also include one letter of recommendation from one of the following: Your 4-H Club Advisor (not same family), Jr Fairboard Advisor, Camp Director.

Personal Development Scholarship Guidelines:
1. Applicants must be at least a high school senior, high school graduate, Washington County 4-H Alumni current Washington County 4-H Volunteer.
2. Applicants must have been involved in the Washington County 4-H Program a minimum of three years as a member or volunteer.
3. The purpose of this scholarship is to reimburse applicants for expenses incurred for further training or technical education. Reimbursable expenses include: books, tools, supplies, tuition, school fees, continuing education fees, room & board, etc.
4. Awardees will be notified by April 1st
5. Scholarship winners will be required to provide a copy of receipts to be reimbursed. Funds must be claimed by July 1, 2024.
6. Funding for scholarships is made possible by the Washington County 4-H Advisory Committee.
7. Attach a resume up to three pages highlighting your involvement and contributions to 4-H as well as other activities.
