Cloverbud CloverBOT Lego Challenge – June 23

This year’s theme is Wonderful Water! We use water everyday: to drink, cook, take a bath, wash dishes and laundry. Water also provides energy and transportation, aids in manufacturing and helps grow our food. Water is critical to our survival! Find the details here.

  • June 23 at 6:30 p.m., Montgomery County Extension Office in Dayton
  • June 23 at 6:30 p.m., Washington County Junior Fair Building, Marietta
  • June 25 at 10:30 a.m., Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center, Columbus

Challenge Guidelines

  • Teams must have at least two, but no more than eight members. All participants must be 4-H
    Cloverbud members
  • Models must be constructed in an area no larger than 15”x15”. A baseplate is recommended.
  • Any type and quantity of interlocking bricks (i.e.: Mega Blocks, LEGOS) may be used.
  • Models must feature a moving part or simple
    machine (lever, wedge, incline, wheel and axel,pulley, screw).
  • Poster must include team name and members’ names. Use the poster to highlight the overall
    experience.
  • Rewards will be presented to all teams. Teams must be present at the Challenge in order to receive
    rewards.

Join the community of past, present, and future campers as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our beloved Camp Hervida. Everyone is invited and welcome to join in the festivities!

A weekend full of celebratory events is planned. See the schedule of events to the right (or below on a mobile device). Bring your family and come and go as you please throughout the weekend. We hope you’ll spend the whole weekend at camp!

All events are free for all to enjoy, with the following exceptions:

  • SnoBiz Hawaiian shaved ice truck will be inside the camp gates on Saturday from 1:00-4:00pm. They charge $3 for a small shaved ice, $5 for a large shaved ice, and $1 for creme topping. SnoBiz is donating 30% of profits back to Camp Hervida, so be sure to stay cool mid-day by supporting this small business and Camp Hervida!

  • Saturday night dinner at the dining hall catered by Cowboy Concessions. Advanced registration is required to attend the catered dinner.

All other activities throughout the weekend are complimentary, paid for by the Hervida 4-H Camp Building Fund.

Thank You Hervida Chicken BBQ Volunteers!

Thank you camp board volunteers, parents and youth that helped with the annual Hervida Chicken BBQ last Saturday!! It was a fantastic event and the food was DELICIOUS! Your continued help and support of Camp Hervida is appreciated. We also appreciate the dessert bakers!!

Looking for 4-H Project Books?

You can purchase project books from the Washington County Extension office located at 1115 Gilman Ave. The Extension Office is located on the 2nd floor of the building and open 8:00 – 4:00 Monday – Friday.

The 2022 4-H Livestock Record Book for 2nd year and beyond exhibitors is also available for purchase from the Extension Office as well as livestock resource guides to help you study and prepare for livestock skillathons!

Market Turkey Pickup – May 11

The market turkeys are scheduled to ship from the hatchery next week. We are expecting them to arrive on Wednesday, May 11 in the afternoon. If the turkeys arrive as scheduled we will hold pick up at Heritage Cooperative at 219 S. Third Street in Marietta from 4 to 5 pm. You might want to call the Extension Office to make sure they have arrived before traveling.
