Many of the Washington County 4-H club officers and advisors attended the March 26 training held at the Washington County Career Center. The evening started with Welcome, Pledges and Announcements. Breakout sessions for club officers included: President/Vice President; Treasurer; Secretary, News Reporter/Historian/Scrapbook; Health & Safety/Community Service and Recreation. Over 50 4-H youth attended these trainings as well as parents and club advisors.
4-H Club Officer sessions were taught by college students that are members of the OSU Collegiate 4-H Club on the Columbus campus. Students teaching the sessions included Burton Bassett, Spencer Bauman, Amy Michaels, Maddie Ullman, and Ben Preston. The Oak Grove Explorers 4-H Club taught recreation for evening.
OSU Extension staff Kathryn Hartline and Bruce Zimmer also taught a session for parents and advisors on public speaking tips to help 4-H members build upon their presentation skills. The evening concluded with an officer installation ceremony.
