Teamwork

A couple summers ago I teamed up with my business partner and we traveled around the city of Bexley to gather clients for our landscaping services. Throughout the summer we performed various tasks for our clients including lawn mowing, tree and bush trimming, mulching , and weeding.

I there than doing my part of the manual labor my main contribution was keeping in contact with our clients in order to keep up to date with everything they needed us to do.

My business partner and I held weekly meetings and kept each other up to date. During these meetings we would discuss the plans for the week, such as what we needed to complete, and also what we wanted to accomplish by the end of the summer.

Besides having a schedule that outlined the work that needed to be completed, our weekly meetings served as a time to determine deadlines and make adjustments to the already completed schedule.

The main uncertainty that we faced was whether or not the client would pay us and if they did whether or not it would be done in a timely manner. In order to make sure this didn’t happen we charged our clients before we did any work.

The only conflict our team faced was determining who would do what. Usually this was resolved quickly and without disagreement.

If a problem were to occur it was often resolved through communication. After we talked through the problem a solution oftentimes presented itself.

Overall our goals were completed and considering we are still business partners today we were both satisfied with how each other performed.
