Module 3: Efficiency in the Digital Age

From this week’s module, I have a close understanding on how to deal with procrastination, and improve my study efficiency. Procrastination is honestly one of my most annoying problems. I always feel that I may be procrastinating while there’s no too urgent homework deadline. In that case, I would lose the feeling of tension, and thus my study efficiency would drop drastically. In this lecture, I learned some tools which could enable me to become a more efficient learner.

One of the most useful tools that I’ve learned in this week’s lecture is a technique called 3 magical questions. They are respectively 1, Where are you? 2, What do you want to do?, and 3, How will you feel after you doing it. This technique is quite useful for me is because I actually seldom ask myself about my current situation. I always look forward for some big future goals which make them feel too far too finish in one day. However, these three questions make the final goals into different pieces actually. It helps me to have a close insight where I currently is. Also, the third question that “How will you feel after you doing it” is quite a motivational stuff for me. After asking myself the benefits and advantages I could get after finish the specific task, I would be less likely to procrastinate because the sweet result after hard work could motivate me a lot.

Module 2 Communicating and Collaborating on the Web

The most useful takeaway for me in this week is that communicating and sharing things online with peers is quite an efficient way to improve. The main difference between sharing things online with face-to-face is that audiences cannot see your face and hear your tones. In this case, sometimes it may easily lead to some extents of misunderstanding so that people should avoid from using some slangs and sarcasm.

However, there’s another obvious advantage for online communication which is that people could discuss and share information every time at anywhere. There’s no restriction for meeting occasions or time. People could share whenever they have new ideas or thoughts.

One of the most effective tools shared in this module for communicating online which is creating a blog. It’s actually quite a useful way to especially record the gains and thoughts from weekly study. Honestly, I have never use blog before to share my stories, so that it’s quite a novel and efficient stuff for me. The advantages of sharing thoughts on blog are not just record and learn from your past, but at the same time you can learn from the thoughts from other peers. As an audience, you could comment on other’s blog in which you could communicate the different ideas and views on the same subject.
