Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio. G.O.A.L.S.

Global Awareness: While here at Ohio State I hope to have the opportunity to study abroad. This would allow me to gain unique experiences while developing a sense of cultural awareness. Going abroad would also potentially provide me a chance to develop my French skills and enrich my minor.

Original Inquiry: As a business student, I am intrigued by different studies done on consumer preferences. This would be a potential topic of interest for me to do research on once I am further involved in the college of business.

Academic Enrichment: As a member of a professional business fraternity I am continually a part of academic experiences outside of the classroom. These range from sales competitions to different business case studies and are enhancing my education in numerous ways. I hope to continue with these experiences while at OSU.

Leadership Development: As a part of Mount Leadership Society, my leadership abilities are continually being tested and improved upon. This has laid a groundwork for me, and given me the confidence to step up for different governing roles. I plan to take a leadership role in my business fraternity in the future.

Service Engagement: Since I have been at OSU, I have been a part of many different service opportunities through Mount Leadership Society. In the future I will also be participating in Buckeyethon. In the future, I would love to be more involved with the planning of this event.

Career

[“Career” is where you can collect information about your experiences and skills that will apply to your future career.  Like your resume, this is information that will evolve over time and should be continually updated.   For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio. Eiffel Tower

This is a picture I took of Eiffel Tower on my first visit to Europe over this past summer. On this trip I went to a few cities in Italy and ended in Paris, France. I was able to fully experience the culture, through sightseeing, food tasting, and learning a few Italian phrases. While in Paris, I was able to speak a little French and was better able to translate posters/signs. This experience was amazing and allowed me to fully see the importance of communication and language. By the end of the trip, my love for the french language and culture had increased so signficantly that I knew I had to study it further.

About Me

My name is Nicole Wandtke and I’m from Cincinnati, OH. I am a marketing major and plan to minor in French. In high school, I went on two mission trips that provided service and traveling experience. I was also able to travel to Europe. Additionally I participated in 3 sports, held a job, and was a part of french club. In the future I plan to work for a medium to large size company in the marketing field. I would also be interested in working for an international company.

At OSU I am a part of the Mount Leadership Society scholars program, which allows me to gain leadership and community service skills. I also plan to join a business fraternity which will give me the opportunity to work with different companies in a professional setting.IMG_0216
