U.S. National Trails

It’s SPRING!

The National Trails System is waiting for you!

Created in 1968, the National Trails System included three types of trails:  National Scenic Trails, National Recreation Trails, plus side and connecting trails.  Later in 1978, they added National Historic Trails. The first designated trails were the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail.  The Trails are administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the United States Forest Service (USFS) or the National Park Service (NPS).

Whichever Trail you choose, there is opportunity to learn and grow.
