GIS Specialization is a new series of 4 classes & a capstone project from Coursera.  The classes were  created by UCDavis.  Following the new trend in mooc’s there is a fee involved ($79) for each class, but financial aid is offered and the student receives a Verified Certificate.

The courses are:  1. Fundamentals of GIS, 2. GIS Data Formats, Design & Quality, 3. Imagery, Modeling & Applications, 4. Geospatial & Environmental Analysis and the Capstone Project is Geospatial Analysis. Each class may be taken individually too.   The Capstone Project covers an entire design–from the Project Proposal to the Analysis, Production and the Final Product/Display.
