Principal Investigator:
Kentaro Fujita received his B.A. in Psychology from Harvard College, and his M.A. and PhD. in Psychology from New York University. He is currently a Professor of Psychology at OSU. He is broadly interested in how motivation and cognition dynamically interact to influence evaluation, judgment, decision, and behavior. His most recent work examines the cognitive and motivational mechanisms that underlie self-control decisions and other self-regulatory phenomena. He is also interested in what motivates change at the individual-, group-, and system-level.
Graduate Students:
Eugene Kim, Capt USAF received his B.S. in Behavioral Sciences from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2019. He is currently a second-year student in the Decision Psychology program and also serves as an Information Operations Officer in the Air Force. His research interests broadly include motivation, self-regulation, and role expectations in a military context. Upon graduation, he will be moving to Stuttgart AFB to continue his Air Force career.
Kelly Amaddio, Maj USAF earned her B.S. in Behavioral Sciences from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2013 and her M.S. in Engineering Management-Human Factors Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 2015. She is currently a third year student in the decision psychology doctoral program where her research interests focus on social influence and persuasion, especially regarding misinformation. She also serves as an active duty Information Operations Officer in the US Air Force.
Owen Stanczak received his B.S. in Psychology and Philosophy with Minors in Criminology and Theology, Concentration in Peace and Justice Studies from the University of Scranton in 2024. He is currently a first-year student in the Social Psychology program. His research interests broadly include the roles that construal level and regulatory scope have in group dynamics, and how construal and scope may help or hinder the functioning of groups and the individuals within them.
Research Assistants:
Prajwal Dahiya is a third-year Neuroscience major and a minor is philosophy. He is interested in Cognitive and Behavioral Psychology. Prajwal plans to pursue a Ph.D in Cognitive Neuroscience and do research in the field of Neurosciences.
James Markley is a fourth-year economics major and social psychology minor. He is broadly interested in behavioral economics and decision psychology. After graduation, he plans to take a gap year before going to graduate school in a related field.
Narayan Roy is a senior Psychology major and Neuroscience minor at the Ohio State University. He has a strong interest in clinical and cognitive psychology. After graduation, he plans on pursuing a masters in a related field.
