The GOALS

There are many ways to accomplish the goal of global awareness. The main way I hope to accomplish this in my college career is by studying abroad. I hope to study abroad during the summer after my sophomore year in either Australia or Europe. I am planning on minoring in business so I will probably just take business classes abroad. I have also thought about going on a global may trip to Spain after my freshman year.

Original inquiry is a goal that is very important to students in pre-health professions. I like many of peers hoping to go to medical school want to get involved in research on campus. I am hoping to start in research lab over the summer going into my sophomore year. I really want to find a lab that I researching something I am interested so I won’t be surprised if it takes me multiple labs to find the right fit. I hope to accomplish the goal of original inquiry through the research I do in the future.

Being a member of the honors college is one of the easiest ways to complete the goal of academic enrichment. In the honors college, I am constantly challenged in my classes and that is the best way for me to pursue academic excellence. I also want to join clubs that enrich my education such as Nu Rho Psi or Chemistry Club. Through these organizations I would be able to pursue academic enrichment outside the classroom as well as inside.

Leadership is a characteristic that is important at all levels of education and also in real life. I hope to start by joining organizations and taking leadership positions. I would then be able to prove my leadership ability and use my ideas to make the organization better for all the people in it. I have also thought a lot about joining Greek life. The only quam I have is the time commitment but I think it would be a great opportunity for me to take a leadership position within an organization.

In high school, service was one of the most important things to the mission of my school. I participated in Big Brothers, volunteered in the Boys and Girls Club, and built houses with Habitat for Humanity. I would love to continue these endeavors but also try out other opportunities to accomplish the goal of service engagement. Some organizations I would like to get involved in are Buck-i-serv and volunteering at the hospital. I would also like to continue hospital volunteering during the summers at home.
