Here are some of the research questions in which I am interested:

  1. How can the theories and disciplines of cultural studies (e.g. feminisms, poststructuralism, semiotics, psychoanalysis, postcolonialism, critical race theory, qualitative methodologies, etc.) be used to guide the design, development, and evaluation of educational technologies in ways that are culturally relevant, equitable, and that serve underrepresented populations?
  2. How can pre-service teachers be prepared to integrate technology into their teaching while maintaining a critical and reflective attitude towards the pedagogical, social, and cultural implications of using educational media to teach?
  3. How can educational “new media” be used to rethink the theories, methods, and dissemination of educational research through frameworks that better address the complexities of current learning contexts and that take into consideration the existing and emerging characteristics of new media?
