Learning Journal #8

Going through the instructional design articles was an interesting challenge for me. I have had not really researched on the subject before. I felt I learned more about the subjects after my presentations.

What I struggle the most with was the models. While the models look good on paper, the class discussions brought to my attention that these models to not always translate into the “real world.” I was intrigued by the idea of backwards planning, where you start with the evaluation and work your way back to the development process.

The system support systems struck out to me because I have experience with having to use a help desk for system support. Many times I do have to ask an expert in the field for help. When my managers cannot answer my questions they have to call the “IT guy.” However, he is not always around for help. My work would really benefit from having a built in support system with their ordering system.
