Acuitive Solutions Internship 3

My first real assignment for this internship was to do some research. I am currently research all types of social media and what our main competitors in the market are doing.

Our number 1 competitor is called GT Nexus. They do something similar to what we do but have some different applications to the software and also a few different methods. But they are also a much larger company. While Acuitive has only about 20 employees, GT Nexus has over 800.

What i âme to find is that they are live on all of the major social media sites. Facebook, Twitter, Linkdin, Youtube, Google +, and have a very nice looking and fully functional website.

While Acuitive does have a very nice a professional website, we are not even close to being up to par on any of the Social Media Sites. We have a Google+ account but there is no owner so we cannot access it. We have a Facebook but rarely ever post or share anything. Each employee has their own Linkdin Page but there is no page for the company.

These are a few problems i knew right off the bat, and looking at our competitors on social media and the presence that they had, i knew that there was a lot of work to do!

The next thing i did during my internship was to meet with the social media and marketing team to discuss their plans and what i would be doing during my time with the company.

So I had a phone conference with the two managers of marketing for Acuitive and we first talked about the approach that we would be taking. I have experience with my other internships doing marketing directly specifically towards the consumer. Working at Raising Cane’s we are trying to target consumers directly. Using commercials and advertising with social media and print. This type of marketing is totally different.

Acuitive is not trying to target consumers, but businesses. They want businesses to use their product for their company. They believe that with our product, Supply Chain Management and Logistics with be made so much simpler and more efficient. We can save companies tons of time, man hours and money just buy using some of the applications of our software. This is the message that we are trying to convey to the any business that will need to ship internationally.

So most of our discussion on the phone was to talk about different ways to get this done, and one being Social Media. Acuitive is not very active right now on social media and one of my responsibilities will be to take over some of the sites and get them going!

 

Acuitive Solutions Internship

So I have been trying to figure out how to post this and how to format everything for a while now and so i am just going to wing it.

My internship is with a logistic company called active solutions. It is a cloud based company which means they operate almost exclusively online. Their software is available offline and from their they can do anything.

I spent my first few weeks learning about the company and what all they do. The different applications of their software and how they interact. How each application is used by the consumer and when they use it.I had a couple of training sessions where i sat down with the coo and he gave me a run through. This was extremely helpful because the key to being a good marketer is knowing your product and or service.

So this has been my first few weeks. Spending time looking at older sales presentations to clients, going over the in and outs of the company and just learn all i could about supply chain management, which is their area of expertise.
