Devastation

You told the truth of your story. A little while later, the officials have gotten back to you.

Devastation.

You were not accepted to be resettled, and there is nothing you can do about it. You could languish here or you could return to Vietnam. But what would even be the point in staying here, the reminder of your failure? You pack the rest of your belongings, of what little you have, and make way to the exit of the camp.
