OSU STRIVE

The Suicide and Trauma Reduction Initiative for Veterans (STRIVE) is housed within The Ohio State University’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, and is one of the nation’s leaders for developing and testing treatments and interventions to prevent suicide and promote recovery among military personnel and veterans struggling with a range of mental health conditions. In collaboration with STRIVE, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health faculty and staff currently provide psychological treatments for military personnel and veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), depression, chronic pain and physical disability, and insomnia, nightmares, and other sleep disturbances. STRIVE researchers are engaged in research aimed at improving the effectiveness of existing therapies and identifying novel treatments that improve clinical outcomes and quality of life for this population.
