It’s time to strap up your boots and join us again as we help our Veteran community. Come and have fun with us this Saturday from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm!
Veterans ERG: “Boots on the Ground” at the Veterans Care Network
3085 Scioto Darby Executive Court, Hilliard, OH
This will be a fun time of packing meal boxes, sorting and organizing donations, and various other tasks to help in the warehouse and pantry. There will be tons of smiles and wonderful people. Wear your OSU gear, closed toes shoes, and comfortable clothes so you can move and shake and make new friends. Some lifting of up to 25 pounds might be needed.
There will be more events coming and we would love to have you involved. If you would like to be involved in the 2024 initiatives, please contact Ashley Tainer-Harp.
The Veterans Employee Resource Group (VERG) connects Veterans, their families, and supporters within the OSU Community. In addition to building community, we seek to advance Veterans’ careers and serve the Veteran community with resources, networking, and commemorative events.
If you are a Veteran or National Guard/Reserve member of the United States military, or somebody who supports Veterans regardless of military status, please consider joining the Veterans Employee Resource Group (ERG). Let us know of your interest by completing this form.
After twenty years, Military Veterans Resource Center (MVRC) is rebranding itself in honor of its expanding impact in helping veterans regain the self-reliance, independence, and self-confidence they felt as a service member. Their new name is the Veterans Care Network. A new social media expansion will be forthcoming to stay tuned!
They recognize that the transition from military service to civilian life often is difficult. Their goal is to help veterans identify and overcome the barriers that are holding them back from the life they want.
In partnership with Besa, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) created an employee volunteer program to help advance the mission of improving the overall health and well-being of the communities it serves. The Besa portal allows employees to view current projects, sign up with colleagues, request engagement and team-building projects for teams, and give back. Together, we can improve lives and amplify a culture of community engagement. All OSUWMC employees are welcome to sign up and participate in the Besa programs. If you have any questions, please reach out to Aaron Brown, the Besa Volunteer Experience Coordinator. To learn more about Besa, sign up for an account or log into your account.
