This past winter, I was able to serve a local elementary school to give  a lesson on leadership. I was able to engage with a diverse range of students and was able to connect leadership to concepts that they were universally able to understand and apply to their real life circumstances. Myself and a team of individuals committed to the education of leadership in the youth formatted a program within our scholars program to create a fun and informative lesson plan for some of the youth in the Columbus area. We were able to create a wholesome learning environment given the resources and our knowledge of leadership. During the lesson, we asked the kids who they thought were leaders and what characteristics that they share. Then we asked them how they can take some of those positive characteristics in to their everyday lives. This was definitely an experience that can be built off of in order to create future leadership initiatives.
