Mon 10/26- Group A DL

I think it went okay my nose was the hardest part and I tired to add darker values but I kept changing the shape of my face and making it look not quite right .

DL Week 8

If you’ve already started the density drawing:

  • Take a picture of your progress so far.
  • Take a look at the perspective in your drawing. Does it appear accurate, or do you need to make some adjustments before continuing the drawing? If it helps you, visualize the horizon line and the vanishing points in your drawing and make adjustments to the angles of buildings, alignment of trees, or other elements in your drawing.
    • it does appear accurate, but I just need to add more detail along with shading and adding points where the light hits.
  • Consider the second material you want to bring in. How will you combine it with the layer(s) of drawing you did with your first material? Will the materials overlap each other or will they stay separate in your drawing?
    • I am going to do charcoal and pencil. I think it will give my drawing a good dimension.
  • Keep working on your drawing, remembering to work to reach all 4 sides of the paper.
  • When building up darker values in your drawing, work on mapping out the values across the whole landscape rather than darkening in one detail at a time. That way there’s less risk of making one spot too dark when compared to the rest of the landscape and then having to erase or readjust.
  • KEEP GOING! The drawing should contain many layers. Push yourself out of your comfort zone and see how dense you can make this landscape while maintaining visual depth and strategic negative space.
