My G.O.A.L.S

Global Awareness

I plan to take a history class next semester on World War II. This conflict affected the entire world and continues to have lasting changes. I am excited to learn about different countries and continents in that class. In addition, I have always loved to travel and jump at any opportunity to visit a new place. If my schedule cooperates, I would love to study abroad somewhere and learn about their culture. Currently, I am interested in studying abroad in England or Spain.

Original Inquiry

I am really interested in doing undergraduate research. I think it would be anĀ  awesome way to develop more practical application skills. I plan to find different research projects that really fascinate me and try to get involved with one of those.

Academic Enrichment

I have chosen to be a chemical engineering major because I really enjoyed chemistry in high school and I know it is a very broad field. My planned curriculum allows me to work with something related to chemistry, which is what I hope to do in the future. So far, I have taken English as a general education course. I took English so I could take exciting history classes in the future, which have English as a prerequisite. I believe that the courses I have selected to take show my desire to greatly enrich my knowledge by selecting courses I truly enjoy.

Leadership Development

I am currently involved in Engineering Scholars, the Society of Women in Engineering, and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. I believe my involvement in these activities has helped my development as a leader, because it has allowed to meet many new people and appreciate how others lead. My involvement in these activities helps me to develop my teamwork skills, which will be valuable in the future.

Service Engagement

I have been a Girl Scout Camp Counselor for many years, and this has given me the opportunity to connect with younger girls. I really enjoy being a camp counselor, but I would like to get involved in my community more. I plan to seek out more service opportunities in my community.
