Our Rationale for Choosing this Condition:
Our group members work at The James on various post-operative surgical units. After surgery, a majority of our patients will come to the unit with an indwelling urinary catheter. These patients are at an increased risk for developing urinary tract infections that can complicate their stay. It is important for us as nurses to recognize early signs and symptoms for urinary tract infections in order to treat our patients appropriately and effectively.
