2013 Indonesian Doctoral Sandwich Scholars in OSU

Seventeen doctoral students from Indonesian universities have been awarded grants by The Indonesian Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI) to participate in the Fall 2013 Doctoral Visiting Scholar program in the Department of Teaching and Learning at The Ohio State University. The grant recipients have travelled from 5 different Indonesian cities: Semarang, Jakarta, Surabaya, Malang, and Makassar.

Abdul Hamid, Taufiqullah, Junaedi Setyono, Didik Rinan Sumekto, Heny Setyawati, Yayan Suryana, and Agustina Sri Hafidah are enrolled at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). Somariah Fitriani, Siti Hikmah, Masnidar Tanjung, and Bi Ningish Sutisna are from Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ). Saiban Wijayanto, Sulistyani, and Risa Triassanti are from Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA).Hidayahni Amin and Muhammad Syukri from Universitas Hasanudin (UNHAS) in Makassar will also join this year’s group.

Prior their arrivals, the participants have been matched with faculty and instructors from OSU who will become their academic advisors for the next four months.

The Doctoral Visiting Scholar Program is a customized four-month experience designed to provide students pursuing doctoral degrees at Indonesian universities with access to current resources in the U.S. The program goal is to improve the quality of the students’ research.
