My family owns and operates a greenhouse back home in Brown County. Since the big technology boom we are constantly being asked for around the clock updates on the flowers and vegetables we sell. So a couple years ago we decided to start a Facebook page and keep it updated throughout the season. We forgot to take into account though of how to get our page out there to the customers and potential customers. By doing this QR code and displaying it in the greenhouse and newspaper it should be pretty easy to get our page out there so people can see what we’re up to and how to find us.
To make this flyer I first started with dimensions 720×540, which were provided to us. Following that I then added the three images that are on my flyer. I couldn’t figure out how exactly to crop the images without also taking down the background layer with the original photo. So instead for each photo I used the free transform option to bring each photo down to the size I liked and was able to work with it. Next I added in the text for the flyer highlighting on what is important on the Greenhouse and describing what the flyer actually is for. With the text I chose a couple different fonts to give the flyer a little substance and to draw the eye to a couple different spots. The background is just your simple white background; I did this because I wanted to make sure the text was readable and I didn’t want a distraction with the background.
All the pictures I used were taken by family and I was given permission to use them if I wanted to.
