Scholarships a way to honor hard work
Throughout my college career I have received many scholarships. The ones that mean the most to me are the ones I received from the Ohio Turfrass Foundation (OTF) and the Ohio Sports Turf Managers Association (OSTMA). The scholarship recipients are chosen from a board of mentors, advisors, and other important people in the turfgrass industry.
I have received an OTF scholarship the last 2 years I have been in at Ohio State. Most recently I have been awarded the Ronald D. Baker memorial scholarship. To be awarded a scholarship that’s a memorial scholarship is truly an honor. This to me means that they thought highly enough of me and the work I have been doing to honor me with the Ronald D. Baker memorial scholarship.
I have also received an OSTMA scholarship the last 3 years I have been attending Ohio State. This scholarship means a lot to me because this one is selected from a group of people in the in the sport turf industry. It means a lot to me because they see the hard work I put in are congratulating me with a scholarship so I can continue my education and hopefully one day be where they are.
These scholarship have all helped me continue my education and making me one step closer to achieving my dream of being a sports field manager. I always appreciate these scholarships because not because it’s free money but because the people who are awarding them are a great group of people. Over the years I have gotten to know the people in each of the organizations and they are all full of great people who I’m excited to work with in the future.
