The video was shot by my brother Evan Turner while I worked and demonstrated what to do on the mower. We took the video and photos out at the Ohio Turfgrass Research Facility where I work and do this on a weekly basis to get a better cut for the week. With my brother there to capture the video portion I was able to get better shots of me actually doing the work and getting better angles.
Doing the commentary was fairly simple using the Splice app. I was able to watch the video at the same time and record my voice over so I knew exactly what to say and not be stumbling for words. There was a problem though I think with the background music provided by splice I couldn’t ever find the right balance between loud and soft for my video that would work best for me.
Doing this project not only helped me with my video making skills but it also showed me that I can explain stuff to people on how to do things instead of referring them to someone else.
