During the advanced research and development of our AEV we tested 4 different motor configurations, pictured below, and compared their efficiencies. Through doing this we found that the best design was having both propellers facing backwards when going forwards, and being forwards on the trip back. According to the data collected in the advanced research and development, this was the efficient design as far as energy per distance.
